Perth students get a byte of STEM careers

On Tuesday 8 May, hundreds of Perth high school students ascended on the Bentley campus to learn about a career in information technology, science, technology, engineering and mathematics. The careers event was presented by the ACS Foundation and hosted by our very own School of Management along with the Faculty of Science and Engineering.

The event was opened by the Hon Dave Kelly, WA Government Minister for Innovation and ICT and students heard first-hand experiences from a range of speakers from organisations including Bankwest, Wise Tech Global, Palo Alto, Westpac, Avanade, the Ministry of Data, the Department of Human Services and Microsoft.

Hosting the event at Curtin provided the students with a taste of being on a University campus and was a great way to promote our School. A special thank you to Gemma Richman, Nik Thompson, Francesca Vallini, John Venable and Arthur White for their tireless efforts in the lead up and on the day to ensure it was a great success.
