One of the Most Successful ANZIBA Conferences!

By invitation of the Australian and New Zealand International Business Academy (ANZIBA) President, Professor Douglas Dow, the Curtin Business School was proud to sponsor the 2019 ANZIBA conference at our Bentley campus from 11-13 February 2019.

The Conference included more than 60 high quality papers, panel proposals, and doctoral student papers, which were presented by contributors mainly from Asia, Europe, North and South America, Australia and New Zealand.

Two world-leading professors, Professor Peter Buckley from the University of Leeds and Professor Liesch from the University of Queensland, mentored the doctoral students and the Doctoral Colloquium workshops were coordinated by Dr Forest Jizhong Li from the School of Management.

A number of conference disciplinary trackers were chaired by Curtin Business School’s senior academics, including Professor John Meyer, Associate Professors Htwe Htwe Thein and Subra Ananthram, and Drs Elizabeth Jackson and Forest Jizhong Li from the School of Management; and Professor Christof Pforr from the School of Marketing. The logistics for the Conference were effectively supported by the professional staff in the School of Management, most notably by Mrs Vanessa Wharton, Mrs Susan Willis and Mrs Jess Gibbs.

Conference delegates received a special Welcome to Country by Aboriginal Elder, Robyn Collard at the Welcome Reception on the 11th of February and the Conference was privileged to have Professor Jiatao Li, a world top scholar in global strategy, from the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology to provide the Keynote Address. His address marked the start of the conference paper sessions. At the Conference Gala Dinner at the glorious Crown Promenade Perth, Professor John Cordery, Curtin University Provost and Senior Deputy Vice-Chancellor, made his welcome remarks to delegates.

The Australia Journal of Management sponsored the best paper award.
