Brett Darley

Brett Darley is the Chief Executive Officer of Quadrant Energy, a leading Australian producer of oil and gas, and one of the largest exploration and production companies in the nation. Quadrant Energy’s portfolio of production facilities includes the Western Australian based Varanus Island, Devil Creek and Macedon domestic gas plants, the Ningaloo Vision and Pyrenees Venture FPSOs and Stag Platform oil production facility.

Brett was appointed Chief Executive Officer of Quadrant Energy in June 2015. He has more than 25 years’ experience in the upstream oil and gas industry, both in Australia and overseas. Brett started his career working with Schlumberger in engineering and operational roles in Oman, Dubai and Thailand before moving to Santos where he held a variety of management roles, including Head of Drilling and Completions, working international, offshore and onshore assets.

Following Santos, Brett served as Vice President of Drilling & Completions at Woodside Energy during the Pluto development and deep water exploration campaigns. He moved to Apache Energy in 2012 joining as the Australian Region’s Director, Drilling & Completions, and was appointed Managing Director and Region Vice President for Apache Energy Limited in July 2014.

Brett has technical, operational, commercial and management experience across a wide range of onshore and offshore assets, which has afforded him extensive interaction with State and Australian Governments, regulatory bodies, industry participants and other stakeholders.

Brett holds a Bachelor of Civil Engineering degree from the University of Queensland (1988) and is a Chartered Engineer. He is a member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) and has recently been appointed to the Board of the Australian Petroleum Production and Exploration Association (APPEA), and a member of the Curtin Business School Advisory Council.
