Continually striving towards delivering high-quality research that influences industry, the school is home to the Centre for Research in Applied Economics (CRAE) and the Women in Social and Economic Research (WiSER) cluster. Many of our researchers are also involved with the Bankwest Curtin Economics Centre , a research partnership between Curtin University and Bankwest. We have extensive and varied research expertise across all of our discipline areas, including econometrics and quantitative modelling.
The School of Economics, Finance and Property is closely interconnected with leading professionals and organisations in the field of economics. A number of academics sit on a range of influential boards and commissions, including the Federal Treasury’s Housing Research Panel and the Commonwealth Grants Commission.
Members of the school have conducted contract research or provided consulting services to organisations such as the Australian Prudential Regulatory Authority, AusAID, Commonwealth Department of Foreign Affairs & Trade, Chambers of Commerce and Industry (Western Australia), Commonwealth Grants Commission, Nokia Foundation, the WA Department of Treasury, and even consulting with the Commonwealth Treasury on housing taxes for the Australian Future Tax System Review (Henry Review).
